Pisces New Moon 2026

Piscean, smarchy wetland

The Pisces New Moon of 2026 occurs on Wednesday, March 18, at 8:23 pm CST. We’re still in that same pattern of the Sun and Moon conjunct at the later degrees of the sign, and this time the new Moon occurs at 28°27’ Pisces.

The Sun and Moon in Pisces are closely sextile Uranus in Taurus at 28°14’, and are also out of sign conjunct Neptune in Aries at 01°42’. “Out of sign” conjunct means that while they are not conjunct in the same sign, they are conjunct by degree. Neptune, by virtue of its proximity to Saturn at 03°56’ Aries, then pulls Saturn into the out of sign conjunction with the Sun and Moon.

Now, how about the ruler of this New Moon? Jupiter, newly direct in Cancer at 15°11’, is making a tight square to Venus in Aries at 15°39’ and a trine to Mars in Pisces at 12°57’; not long ago, Jupiter stationed direct on March 10th at 15°05’ Cancer.

Also of note in this new Moon chart is Mercury, who is nearing the end of the retrograde motion and is currently situated at the station degree of 08° of Pisces, conjunct the North Node at 08°57’. Let’s unpack.

  • The Sun and Moon at the late degrees of Pisces. Remember in the Mercury retrograde post, we talked about Mercury seeming to do a final walk-through of Pisces, as perhaps a trickstery little agent in the wake of Saturn and Neptune? Well, Mercury is nearing the end of that walk-through; have any little blue painter’s tape scraps been placed in your consciousness for you to address and possibly turn into something viable as we fast approach the Spring equinox, which will occur shortly after this new Moon? Brian Clark says that Mercury is at their best when in motion; this little nugget, along with Brian’s description of Mercury, may help you start to identify all of those scraps of painter’s tape that have been left behind during the retrograde, “Mercury is multifarious, mischievous and magical, residing between intellect and imagination.” (Brian Clark, Astrological Time: Cycles of the Soul: Transits, Progressions, and Returns, Astro*Synthesis, Launceston, Tasmania, Australia: 2021 p. 97) Is that why so many people find it helpful to go for walks, rides, or drives to clear their head? Can you get yourself in motion in your preferred fashion at this new Moon and see what magically seems to start to appear to your conscious mind, bubbling up somewhere between your intellect and your imagination? As Mercury nears the end of their final walk-through that is the retrograde, it is as if this new Moon in Pisces is providing you with an appointment to collect and sort through those scraps of painter’s tape, and to create from those scraps a punch list of items to be explored and fleshed out at this new Moon, and on into the Spring season. Since Mercury is currently at the same degree as the North Node, let your higher Self assist and guide you toward your most authentic expression of yourself as you work on retrieving your scraps of painter’s tape and putting together your itemized punch list to flesh out and explore in the coming season.

  • The Sun and Moon closely sextile to Uranus in Taurus. Here we see an opportunity to shake up our lives in a way that allows for a fresh take on this exploration of whatever shows up on our punch list of items to flesh out. Maybe you shake up your preferred method of putting yourself in motion - dust off the bike or skates, perhaps? Or maybe instead of plain ole walking, you jog a block, walk a block? Or maybe you detour from your preferred route, taking a drive down roads you’ve never been on, symbolically allowing for fresh, new, possibly rebellious ideas to bubble up between your intellect and your imagination. Can you allow yourself to do this in a way that while admittedly out of your comfort zone, ultimately feels exhilarating and freeing?

  • The Sun and Moon out of sign conjunct Neptune and Saturn in Aries. Here again we have that feeling of approaching a brand new start with Neptune and Saturn in Aries, the first sign of the natural Zodiac. The Sun and Moon are still in the late degrees of Pisces, the last sign of the natural Zodiac, providing us with the means to allow what is bubbling up in our consciousness to safely gestate for a time while in the last degrees of womb-like Pisces, becoming fortified and optimally nurtured before boldly going out into the big, new world of possibilities and potentials at the Spring equinox. As we’ve discussed before, Neptune and Saturn together are about bringing our ideals into reality. What sorts of ideals have been gestating for you, and which ones are at the threshold of being able to take form outside of your consciousness, where they will likely seem to take on lives of their own?

  • Jupiter, the ruler of this new Moon, newly direct in Cancer. Jupiter is closely squaring Venus in Aries, and trining Mars in Pisces. Here we have further nurturing support, allowing for this gestation to come into form, and allowing ourselves to have a great big ole vision for that form, a vision that could also be imbued with meaning. Venus in Aries is courageous, willing to stand up for and go after what she values, and with assistance from the tension of the square to Jupiter, she is tuned up and ready to rock with Jupiter helping her to turn it up to 11. Mars in Pisces provides Jupiter with ease of movement to assertively take action on that grand vision that comes about via the creative tension that this Arian Venus is providing. So whatever seems to want to be coming forth during your Mercurial perambulations, let it come forth, don’t bat it down with pessimism or unnecessary resistance, restraint or restrictions. Don’t worry about the “how”, simply envision the “what". After all, Saturn, the planet of resistance, restraint, restrictions, and “how”, is at 03°56’ of Aries and in a tight sextile to Pluto in Aquarius at 04°58’ in this new Moon chart. This conversation between these two heavy-hitting planets seems to be providing an opportunity to achieve real transformation, to bring your ideals into reality in a powerful way, stepping into your power, becoming “the wolf you need”. (Nita Strauss, The Wolf You Feed ft.
