Aries Full Moon 2026
Aries full Moon comin atcha
I won’t say a ton about this Aries Full Moon chart, since it occurs just four days after the Autumnal Equinox, and so much of the astrological energies that we discussed in the Equinox chart blog post are still in play. I will, however, make another shameless plug for my upcoming event at Harvest Preserve:
Saturday, October 3, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Venus Retrograde: A Heroine’s Journey from Love Goddess to Warrior Queen

This Aries full Moon is exact at 03°37’ on Saturday, September 26, at 11:49 am CST. The Sun at 03°37’ Libra is still activating the outer planet talent triangle - separating from an opposition to Neptune at 02°58’ Aries, separating from a trine to Pluto at 03°09’ Aquarius, and applying to trine Uranus at 05°35’ Gemini. Since during a full Moon the Moon is directly opposite the Sun, this means that the Moon at 03°37’ Aries is conjunct Neptune in Aries, and is sextiling both Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini. This aspect pattern fully ensconces the Moon in that outer planet talent triangle. Magic! Here’s the visual:
This Aries full Moon may illuminate something for you around the themes of the Equinox:
How can we use the energy of the outer planet small talent triangle to purposely create a more balanced and harmonious life for ourselves and those around us?
How can we purposely and creatively use our own figurative swords of enforcement to compose more balance and harmony in our lives?
How can we use Durga’s sword of clarity and detachment from illusion to cut away anything that takes us away from our higher Self?
Aries is ruled by Mars, and nobody appreciates a useful weapon-tool like Mars, so I think Mars will appreciate these discerning ladies using their swords of enforcement, and will do his warrior best to assist this Aries Moon in illuminating what needs to go. To see how he may execute his duties, let’s see what Mars is up to in this full Moon chart.
Mars at 29°09’ Cancer is in a T-square with Mercury at 24°48’ Libra and Chiron at 29°40’ Aries.
Mars in Cancer can be very sensitive, and specifically in a Mama Bear kind of way. His ire is particularly evoked if he perceives some type of threat to those he feels are somehow under his protection. With Mercury and Chiron in the mix, there may be a thought pattern that stirs up a familiar wound, one that spurs this Mars toward assertion and action. Perhaps there may be a conversation or some other type of communication that speaks to your role as a mentor, and you may feel driven to assert yourself in defense of your mentee. There may be something that is illuminated at this full Moon that both brings some clarity and requires action on your part - an action that is a type of removal or figurative cutting away. You may remove yourself or someone under your purview from a group, activity, chat, project, or endeavor that may have become too disruptive, or that may be taking you or them away from Self.
With Moon conjunct Neptune, that clarity will likely be hard to come by. It may all seem too overwhelming or unclear, so don’t sweat it if you feel like you should take action, but aren’t quite sure what action to take. By the day after the full Moon, the Moon will be separating from the conjunction to Neptune, and moving toward the conjunction with Saturn at 11° Aries. Mars will also move into fiery Leo, so there may be less fogginess by then. Mars will also be moving to oppose Pluto on October 3 (the start of Venus’s retrograde!) and then on to square Venus in Scorpio on October 10, so that should provide enough intensity to get those figurative swords a-swishing. Maybe too much intensity! Don’t cut ALL the ties, remember we have the entirety of Venus’s upcoming forty day retrograde journey to really parse out some of these themes and what they may mean for our lives. But do allow this Aries full Moon to light up what wants to be illuminated, and at least do some symbolic releasing and cutting away at the full Moon, if not the literal kind. Allow yourself to become aware of what is being illuminated for you at this full Moon that wants to be released, being especially aware of those things that may be taking you away from living a more balanced and harmonious life. Perhaps after symbolically releasing or cutting ties with those things, you may find that you don’t have to literally cut any ties to feel more balanced and harmonious.
When releasing during the full Moon, I like to make it a thing. It doesn’t have to be exactly at the time of the full Moon, it can be the night before the full Moon when the Moon appears full in the sky, or in the few days afterward. Here is the timing for releasing for this full Moon in Aries:
Friday evening, September 25 through Tuesday evening, September 29 6:36 pm
Note for night owls/morning larks: when releasing, avoid the Void-of-Course Moon times of:
Saturday, September 26: 3:31 am - 5:23 am
Monday, September 28: 4:50 am - 9:39 am
When releasing during the full Moon, take some time and create a sacred space for yourself and whoever else would like to make it a thing with you. This doesn’t have to be elaborate. Simply sitting quietly and focusing on your breath with lightly closed eyes and spine as erect as possible, or focusing on the sounds in your environment and intentionally taking this moment to connect with yourself and with the nurturing energy of the Moon - which I like to think of as our Cosmic Mother. If you have a meditative practice, feel free to incorporate that into your full Moon practice, but let the Moon guide you, don’t get too far into your solar self of Doing - allow yourself to simply exist in your lunar self of Being. If you like to really get into your ritual practice, please do make it as elaborate as you wish.
At the end of my full Moon practice, I like to make a list of what I’m releasing. I simply write “I release:” at the top of a piece of paper, and then I write down everything that came up during my quiet time with myself. And then I burn that mofo! Safely and mindfully into my little metal cauldron - let’s not set our selves or homes or fields alight please. It really is very freeing to watch the smoke from the burning list curl up into the ethers. Some folks like to incorporate the water element by tossing the cooled ashes into a body of water afterwards, but I’m happy to scatter them to the winds, figuring they’ll make it to water someday. COOLED ashes, mind you, ok? Like totally, 100% completely cold ashes, the next day at the earliest, but preferably even later than that. And there, just like that you have made some space for your higher Self to lead you on to your highest and best expression of yourself. I’m a big proponent of gratitude, and I like to give thanks at the end of my practice, so do give thanks to whatever Deity you feel is guiding you. If you are PTSD from CCD or whatever other childhood teachings were foisted upon you, and don’t like the idea of Deities, simply give thanks to yourself for making this time to connect with yourself and give thanks to the Universe for coexisting with you.
Because as my yoga teacher Jaki Nett likes to say that everything comes back to yoga, we’ll tie this practice into yoga philosophy, wherein which one of the eight limbs of yoga are the Niyamas. The Niyamas are virtues or individual disciplines which calm the disturbed mind. One of these five Niyamas is known as Isvara Pranidhana, or “surrender to the Divine of all our actions”. In surrendering, we allow for the Divine to work its own magic, co-creating with us. If you’d like to work with the Zodiacal houses, and aren’t sure which house this Full Moon falls in your chart, feel free to reach out to me for that information.
