Libra new Moon 2025

The Libra New Moon of 2025 occurs on Tuesday, October 21, at 7:25 am CST. The Sun and Moon are conjunct at the later degrees of Libra, specifically at 28°21’, and the ruler of this New Moon, Venus, is at the earlier degrees of Libra, at 9°29’ Libra. Venus isn’t aspecting any other planets at the time of the New Moon, she is simply beautifully existing in her rulership in Libra. Venus in Libra gives Beyoncé vibes - otherworldly beauty that is aligned with the finer things in life like tasteful fine art, haute couture, symphonies, and visually appealing meals that are plated with tweezers. A kind of “look, but don’t touch” experience of beauty. So we have Venus simply existing in her heavenly beauty, unencumbered and unsullied by any other planetary energies at this New Moon, just languishing in beauteous equanimity in Libra. Conversely, the Moon and Sun are in a tense T-square aspect pattern, opposite Chiron in Aries at 24°41’, and all three are square Jupiter in Cancer at 24°25’. With the New Moon in this aspect pattern, there may be a tense situation involving a mentor or mentee that comes to a head. Or perhaps an old wound that you maybe thought had been worked through gets a little ouchy again, as if the scab has been unceremoniously ripped off that wound, or scar tissue that had developed around the wound is now causing its own set of problems. This situation or experience could show up somehow reflected in your personal belief system or in your personal philosophy. Or perhaps the experience itself may feel somehow outsized, or larger in some way than the situation seemingly calls for. It may be that as a result of experiencing this tension or pain, you come to more easily see the situation itself in a wider context, as if you have somehow zoomed out and are now finding yourself able to integrate the disparate parts; perhaps you are finally seeing the larger picture of what is happening unfold before you.

Jupiter itself is not only in a tense aspect with Chiron and the Sun and Moon, but Jupiter is also in a harmonious, flowing grand trine aspect pattern with Saturn in Pisces at 26°20’ and Mars and Mercury conjunct one another in Scorpio at 20°03’ and 20°46’, respectively. With the Mars/Mercury in Scorpio piece, there may be a communication that is given or received that perhaps catalyzes the potentially ouchy wound to reveal itself again. However, I like to think of the Scorpio energy as that which irrigates or flushes away the detritus from the wound, thereby allowing true healing of the wound to occur. So it may be that any ouchies that are experienced at this New Moon are somehow necessary for us to experience, in order to facilitate a truer, more complete healing. With the Saturn in Pisces piece, there may be a timing element at play, perhaps the time has come for this tension to finally come to a head, allowing for a painful release; now may be the time for true healing to begin to occur. With the grand trine in water signs, there may be an emotional outpouring that is perhaps cathartic, and while potentially intense or overwhelming, not necessarily difficult. If the emotions or ouchies do seem too overwhelming, try to connect with Venus in Libra, who is beautifully existing in that otherworldly realm of transcendent beauty and equanimity. Venus is the ruler of this New Moon, so try to connect with that archetype, whose harmonious vibes can assuage any messy emotional tumult, and bring calming winds to gently guide you through the watery rapids of emotion.

Mercifully, the outer planet small triangle aspect pattern is not being aspected by any of the faster moving planets at this New Moon, however, Neptune will be retrograding back into Pisces from Aries on Wednesday, October 22, shortly after this New Moon. Because of this sign/element shift of the outer planet Neptune, some of that same unsettled energy of shifting signs and elements that we have become so familiar with since 2023 is present in a more emphasized way shortly after this New Moon. Neptune will once again be conjunct both by degree and sign with Saturn at 26°17’ Pisces, so maybe with Saturn there, that will offer some supportive stabilization of the energies, or at least a sturdy container to hold the potential flood of emotions? One can hope.

I have found that using the house placement in which the New Moon occurs so useful for setting intentions and manifesting ideas into form, as it not only helps to organize my thoughts, but if utilized throughout the year, touches on each area of life that the houses represent, helping us to become more well-rounded individuals. Also, it allows for Divine co-creation, as it often magically lines up with what is already wanting to come forth in that specific area of life in which the New Moon occurs. If you aren’t sure which house this New Moon falls in your chart, feel free to reach out to me for that information.
